Nobel prizes & fields medals

France provides an excellent environment that nurtures the questioning mind. Little is left to wonder when so many Nobel Prize winners and Fields Medal winners are from this country.

Nobel Prize is awarded to people who have had exceptional contribution in Chemistry, Literature, Peace, Physics and Medicine. France ranks 4th for having the highest Nobel laureates which is 69 as of today.

The Fields Medal is a prize awarded to two, three, or four mathematicians under 40 years of age at the International Congress of the International Mathematical Union (IMU), a meeting that takes place every four years. The Fields Medal is regarded as one of the highest honour a mathematician can receive, and has been described as the mathematician's Nobel Prize. France is the 2nd highest Fields medal – a total of 11.

Holding such high ranks, the general atmosphere is one that harbours more rational thinking driven by how we can improve in various aspects of life.
