For long, France has been seen as a global centre for art and culture. Efforts to promote the tech sector over the past decade have now established the country as a tech hub. Mentioned in the same breath as Silicon Valley, France is the second on the list of European tech markets that receive the highest dollar funding. It also maintained its lead through 2019 by being the only country in the top three, to see growth in 2019. The sector is high on the government’s agenda with tax breaks, investments, and even immigration programmes being instituted to provide a much-needed shot in the arm that could have the country compete with global tech hubs. As a leader in R&D funding, with wired internet, 5G, and an ever-evolving tech-friendly public policy framework set to speed up growth in this segment, France is firming up its place as a technology hub that attracts leading businesses from the world over.
