This programme is based on the PSI preparatory classes with some adjustments which dovetail with the Engineering cycle to enable easy transfer onto the later course.
IT, automation, mechanics and electronics are all studied in the first year. Technological and experimental approaches are developed through practical work and projects which are carried out in small groups.
Communication lessons and help in refining CVs and covering letters will prepare students for their first contact with the business world.
Business knowledge is developed through a one month placement in the first year.
The Education department and academic staff are particularly keen to monitor students' progress and listen to their requests. Support lessons can be arranged if required.
Particular attention is also given to international students.
During the Integrated International Preparatory Cycle, lessons usually take place on Monday to Friday. The number of hours per day is fairly limited to enable students to develop, through individual or group study, the subject knowledge provided in the taught lessons.
Educational evaluation is via continuous assessment (supervised tests)
In the first year, support lessons in Mathematics and Physics are given to STI high school diploma (A-Levels) holders, and last for the whole academic year.
