Classic education

ESIGELEC offer a balanced education which teaches students about different technologies, personal skills and the development of individual potential. This is achieved primarily through project-based teaching, strengthening links with industry, and ensuring there is a strong international outlook and highly developed student association life.

Training

For the Engineering degree, ESIGELEC provide a broad-based programme: over three semesters, with the aim of providing students with the technical knowledge and managerial and linguistic skills which are essential for a career as an engineer. The programme includes :

- science and technology subjects: Mathematics, Physics (Thermal Engineering, Electromagnetism, Logic, Regulation, Mechanics, Hardware, Electro technology, Power Electronics), Electronics, IT, Signals, Electrical Engineering, Automation

- subjects associated with humanities, management and languages: Communication, Written and Oral Expression, Business Management modules, English and a choice between Spanish, German, Chinese or Japanese.

- a choice of 9 professional careers, and several cultural options, enabling students to develop a perspective of the world and its complexity from an economic, social and human viewpoint (e.g. Jazz and Cinema, Theatrical Expression, Sustainable Development, Ethics, etc)

A wide range of technological fields

During the first year of the Engineering cycle, paths of technological openness enable students to construct an ‘a la carte’ curriculum with the emphasis on 2 or 3 of the school’s field disciplines. These include Information and Communication Technologies, Electronics/Telecommunications or Electrical Engineering and Embedded Systems. During the second year, students (around 400 who advance) are distributed between 12 majors technology, of which 8 are bilingual (one is also taught entirely in English) :

  • Electronic systems of telecommunication engineering
  • Communications engineering
  • Information systems engineering
  • Networks architecture and security
  • Embedded systems engineering
  • Automation and industrial robotics
  • Electrical engineering and transport
  • Mechatronics
  • Energy and sustainable development
  • Biomedical engineering
  • Business engineering
  • Finance engineering

Project-based teaching, compulsory internship in France or abroad, opportunities for double degree curricula and a strong international openness enrich this programme of study.
