ESIGELEC is a private higher education engineering school, with associative status, formed in 1901.
It is recognised by the French State and supported by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Rouen (CCIR) and the Society for Electrical Engineers (SIGELEC) which has former students as members. It is also run by local regional authorities (for the Haute Normandie and Rouen areas), local businesses, large conglomerates and SMEs (Valéo Thalès Air Systems, France Télécom, Aircelle, EDF, Synchronic) and their representative organisation (UIMM) and members of the higher education community (University of Rouen)
Frédéric HENRY, member of the CCIR, was named as President of the Board of Directors.
Recognised by the French State, ESIGELEC have accreditation from the CTI (French Board of Engineering Degrees) to award the Engineering Degree, which provides a grade of Master’s Degree. The school is also a member of the CGE (French Conference of top management and engineering Schools) and the Conference of Directors of French Engineering Schools.
ESIGELEC and its research institute, IRSEEM, together form the higher education and research in engineering sciences cluster of the CCIR.
This body comprises 30 members representing institutions, industrial organisations and higher education and research establishments from the regional, national and international communities. It is run by an industrialist, Guillaume Devauchelle, who is Head of Research for the VALEO Group
Through IRSEEM, it facilitates better communication between research and education on one hand, and between research and industry needs on the other.

It includes members from outside the school, management representatives, professors and students. It is headed by ESIGELEC’s Managing Director, Claude Guillermet.
It proposes directions for course programmes and methods for applying them to the Board of Directors and General Management. It also offers its opinion on new programmes.
