Business Engineering major
I followed the course through the work/study programme, in a business which I now work for called Eiffage.
I’m a business manager for renewable energies and the service sector. That means I look after sales and I’m in charge of tenders, estimates, monitoring construction sites and team management and safety.
My job is partly technical and partly management based and it involves a few international relationships.
ESIGELEC enabled me to follow my training on a work release basis, which allowed me to develop, find my path and then enter the world of business. The school also enabled me to make international contacts (through the placement abroad scheme).
My favourite memories include the tutoring programme organised between ESIGELEC and local school pupils and the meal to celebrate the Engineer Project awards.
I’m still in contact with people from the school and my graduation year, and particularly people from my major – we bonded really well.
Being a female engineer can be slightly inconvenient as we are tested more than men but on the other hand, once we have managed to prove ourselves and won the respect of our teams, it’s great!!
My advice is learn to keep calm and controlled.
