The studying environment

In April 2004, ESIGELEC opened our facilities at the Technopôle du Madrillet site, just south of Rouen. Its new, ultra modern buildings cover 3 hectares and a total surface area of 12,000 m2. They include a 420 seat amphitheatre, two 250 seat amphitheatres, one 120 seat amphitheatre, 14 rooms for practical work, 10 laboratories and 5 research rooms, a self-service multimedia language lab, permanent internet access and a library with more than 6000 books and periodicals. One building is entirely devoted to business services and houses notably IRSEEM (the Research Institute of Embedded Electronic Systems) and a business incubator

Students have access to a cafeteria-restaurant, a common room and more than 15 offices devoted to the student and sports departments and various clubs. The site location is close to partners in the automotive, aeronautics, electronics and telecommunications industries and facilitates our relationships with INSA Rouen, the University of Rouen and the research centres on the same site.

From 2011, the embedded systems integration campus will complete the ESIGELEC facilities and bring the total surface area for the school up to more than 17,000 m2.

The Integrated International Preparatory Cycle is located on a different site at rue de la Tour de Beurre, in the centre of Rouen itself, very close to the cathedral. This building caters for more than 300 students and has dedicated areas for its common room, free internet access room, etc. Practical work is still carried out at ESIGELEC which is easily accessible from this site by metro.

The Technopôle du Madrillet site,

The Technopôle du Madrillet site is situated in a wooded area of paths and cycle routes. It is 7km from the centre of Rouen and can accessed within a few minutes via the metro and bus network (a train every 8 minutes). It has a restaurant, accommodation facilities and a shopping complex. It also has significant cultural facilities (concert venue, exhibition park, etc) and good transport links (direct access to the A13 Paris-Caen- Le Havre motorway and the A28 Alençon-Rouen-Calais-Lille motorway). More facilities are planned to enrich the social life and further improve the facilities
