Social and humanitarian openness

Student associations linked to social commitment

  • ESIG’ Computer : recycling and reconditioning of computers for associations, schools or needy individuals.
  • STOP : raising awareness about the dangers of drink driving with preventative action in nightclubs. Collection of bottle caps whose recycling helps people with disabilities to obtain wheelchairs.
  • JDC Renewable Energy: organisation of conferences linked to sustainable development.

Creativity and Initiative projects

Project directions linked to social commitment also feature in the creativity and initiative projects led by students during their first year, in teams of 4 or 5. A few examples :

  • Raising awareness about discrimination at school - making children aware of differences and how they enrich life (theatrical improvisations/workshop)
  • First aid training.
  • Raising students’ awareness of ecology through the use of wood.

Tutoring

  • Each year, as part of the “100,000 students for 100,000 school children” programme, or the “Success Ladders” scheme, around 50 engineering students support secondary level school children with their school work and also their leisure activities or cultural education. The activities are assessed and given grades.
