Hybrid electric vehicle

Published the 14-01-2010

In view of the dwindling use of fossil fuels and the damage being caused to the environment, the automotive industry are striving to improve current methods for powering vehicles and are developing hybrid or electric power as an option.

The rechargeable, hybrid vehicle is being touted to the general public as the vehicle of the future according to a report by J. Syrota in September 2008. What he finds interesting about the electric vehicle is that it does not directly emit pollutant gases, justifying the many projects currently underway to improve its autonomy and eventually lead to its use it mainly urban environments.

In order to support the automotive industry in their attempt to change the technology and bring about a significant increase in electrical power, ESIGELEC created the “Electrical Engineering and Energies” department in June where lessons are focused on the diversification of energy sources, sustainable development and the scientific disciplines of electronic power, electro technology and control engineering.

In support of these lessons, IRSEEM will soon provide us with a roller test bench for four wheel hybrid and electric motor vehicles. This bench will enable the impact of technological innovations on the energy consumption of these vehicles (and on pollutant emissions for hybrid vehicles) to be validated experimentally.
